Building Collapse in Midtown Manhattan Leaves One Dead

A building under construction in midtown Manhattan partially collapsed on Friday morning, leaving one person dead and another trapped in debris, according to city fire officials. The fire Department of New York tweeted this this afternoon that firefighters were attempting to rescue the person from the debris.
The collapsed occurred on West 38th street, just few blocks from the Empire State Building. Fortuna Realty Group, the company developing the property, declined to comment.
