The South African Olympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius was freed from a South African prison
Monday after serving less than a year behind bars for the 2013 shooting
death of his girlfriend.
Though as confirmed by his lawyer Brian Webber, to NBC News, adding that Pistorius will be staying at an uncle's house under correctional supervision.
A representative of Steenkamp's family said Pistorius' fate mattered little to them, because she was never coming back. Pistorius was convicted of culpable homicide — a charge similar to manslaughter — and found not guilty of murder after his defense team argued that he believed Steenkamp to be an intruder when he shot her on Valentine's Day 2013.We hope he stays out of any form of violence.
