President Buhari has sacked 17 of his permanent secretaries in the Federal Civil Service.
Although, no reason has been stated for the dismissal, a close source to the president told Channels TV this afternoon that the retirement takes Immediate effect.
This is coming barely 24 hours after the EFCC chairman was sacked and was replaced by Assistant Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Magu.
Over the past months, the permanent secretary has been holding several meetings with the president, an indication that they were giving the president their last brief.
Analysts see this move as a way to shrink the ministries to cut overhead costs for his government.
